As a professional nature photographer, Nancy J. Smith, a native Oregonian, delights in capturing images that reveal nature in its purest state. All images are shot on film without the use of colored filters or manipulation because she believes nature is beautiful in its purest state. She’s always been “green”, producing her 7-time national award-winning Majestic Pacific Northwest calendar for the past 27 years in Oregon on high-quality recycled paper. From an early age, she was intrigued and curious about nature. Nancy grew up camping, hiking and fishing with her family in the wilderness areas of Oregon. Truly a modern-day explorer, she loves venturing off the beaten path in search of extraordinary images. Her deep connection with nature, and a desire to preserve it, inspires her to create full-color photographs on metal and archival paper, award-winning wall calendars, and outdoor apparel designed from her original photographs. She desires to educate and inspire others, so fascinating text about the flora and fauna of the PNW accompanies the photographs in her calendars. Most recently, she received her 7th national award for Best Scenic Photography on her Majestic Pacific Northwest calendar! Other awards include, the Ray Atkeson Memorial Award on her “Wispy Mt. As a full-time professional nature photographer, Nancy J. Smith, a native Oregonian, delights in capturing images that reveal nature in its purest state. All images are shot on film without manipulation.
From an early age, she was intrigued and curious about nature. Nancy grew up camping, hiking, and fishing with her family in the wilderness areas of Oregon. This exposure to nature evolved into a life-long passion to photograph and share the wild places of the Pacific Northwest. Truly a modern-day explorer, she loves venturing off the beaten path in search of extraordinary images. Her deep connection with nature, and a desire to showcase and preserve it, inspires her to create full-color photographs on metal and archival paper, award-winning wall calendars, and outdoor apparel designed from her original photographs and uplifting quotes.
She hopes to educate and instill appreciation in others to care for the fragile forests, streams and wildlife of our world through fascinating text that accompanies each photograph in her calendar.

Most recently, she received her 10th national award for Best Scenic Photography from the Calendar Marketing Association in Illinois on her 2022 Majestic Pacific Northwest calendar!

She participates in numerous art shows and farmers' markets throughout the year where you can purchase her artwork or wearable art.
