About the artist
My family and I
have enjoyed rock hunting for the past 25 years.
Four years ago my husband and I acquired used
lapidary equipment and began designing jewelry,
beads, and buttons.
There are several
processes the rock goes through before it is
complete. This includes cutting, shaping,
drilling, grinding, sanding, and buffing. With a
14” diamond saw blade I cut a slab off the rock
and examine it, identifying interesting patterns
and colors. With this in mind I begin shaping
the stone. The transformation from rough rock to
a finished piece always fascinates me.
